One ejected and killed in fatal multi-vehicle crash on Route 3

One person has been killed after a fatal multi-vehicle crash this morning.

According to Massachusetts State Police, this morning at 2:26 a.m. Troopers from the State Police-Norwell Barracks responded to a rollover crash on Route 3 south, in Pembroke. The crash resulted in the fatality of one of the drivers.

Preliminary investigation suggests that a 2019 Mercedes SUV and a Honda Ridgeline were both traveling south on Route 3 in Pembroke and came into contact in a sideswipe collision. The Mercedes then rolled over and the operator was ejected. The operator of the Mercedes a 54-year-old female from Plymouth was determined to be deceased at the scene. The operator of the Honda a 42-year-old male operator from Oak Bluffs was not injured.

The crash remains under investigation by Troop D of the Massachusetts State Police, the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, and the State Police Crime Scene Services Section. Troopers were assisted on-scene by Pembroke Fire Department, The Medical Examiner’s Office and MA DOT.

All lanes were shut down for 2 hours as a result of the crash and to assist in the investigation.
