A future Fall River marijuana establishment is holding a meeting for city residents.

The Haven Center Inc will hold a Community Outreach Meeting on April 26, 2019 at the Fall River Public Library, 104 North Main Street, Fall River, MA 02720 between 12:30-1:30 p.m. to discuss the proposed siting of an Adult Use Marijuana Establishment at 1435 Pleasant Street, Fall River.

A previous public meeting on the topic was held in April 2018.

Topics to be discussed at the meeting will include, but not be limited to:

1. The type(s) of Adult-Use Marijuana Establishment(s) to be located at the proposed address;

2. Plans for maintaining a secure facility;

3. Plans to prevent diversion to minors;

4. Plans to positively impact the community; and 5. Plans to ensure the establishment will not constitute a nuisance to the community.

Interested members of the community are encouraged to ask questions and receive answers from The Haven Center’s representatives about The Haven Center’s proposed facility and operations.

Three locations in the city are currently selling marijuana.

Northeast Alternatives, who also processes and cultivates, has been selling both retail and medical marijuana.

Recently opened Hope Heal Health along with Nature’s Medicines Dispensary have both been conducting medical marijuana sales in the city.

The Cannabis Control Commission held a meeting earlier this month where they granted provisional licenses to both Hope, Heal, Health, Inc and Greener Leaf to sell and cultivate recreational marijuana.

As many as eleven total proposed sites in Fall River are either operating currently or looking to do so.

The future and current Fall River marijuana establishments will pay a 3 percent tax to the city.
