New Lizzie Borden film shot on location in Fall River, soon to be released

A new Lizzie Borden flick is being produced and the short film was shot right here in Fall River.

The premise is as follows:

The date is May 25th, 1927 – a week before Lizzie Borden dies at her home in Fall River, Massachusetts.

Sitting on her porch, Lizzie has a visitor, a young Fall River news reporter, who had received a letter from “Maplecroft” stating that he is urgently needed for a news worthy story.

Could this be a deathbed confession or simply an invitation to have tea with Lizzie Borden?

As many of us know, Lizzie Borden was the main suspect in the August 4, 1892 axe murders of her father and stepmother in Fall River. Borden was tried and acquitted of the murders.

The short film, executive produced and written by Victor Franko (aka Frank Durant), who has several films to his credit, goes back in time and re-enacts a fictional conversation Lizzie had with a newspaper reporter named William Dwyer. The project called “Tea with Lizzie Borden” was shot on location at Lizzie Borden’s Maplecroft home.

Gia Dill, a New Hampshire based actress who has worked on several recent independent films, plays Lizzie Borden in the production while Jamie Dufault, whose credits include the History Channel, plays William Dwyer. The production is directed by indie film director Richard Chandler from Easton. John Duke Logan, who entertained on America’s Got Talent, is also helping produce the flick.

According to Durant, Tea with Lizzie Borden was supposed to be out by late June.

UPDATE: (12/16/19) The film now has a release date of February 1st 2020.
