Fu Sha Inc is in the process of taking over the Taphouse Grille at 159 South Main Street in Fall River and converting it into a Chinese & Sushi House.

Qixin Zhang told the Fall River Licensing Board on Wednesday that he is buying the business and building. The board granted a transfer of alcohol license that he was seeking, pending an inspection of the restaurant upon completion. The closing on the property could occur as early as this week which would result in the beginning of renovation to turn the Taphouse into the new establishment.

A May opening is currently scheduled for the new restaurant.

The new business plans on being open seven days a week with hours of 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. during the week and 11 a.m. to 12 a.m. on the weekends.

The current plans include a sushi bar out front.
