Names released in double fatal motorcycle crash in Massachusetts
Massachusetts State Police are investigating a double fatal crash involving two motorcycles that occurred early this morning in the Thomas P. O’Neill Tunnel in Boston.
At about 2:15 a.m., two motorcycle operators crashed resulting in the death of both operators.
Preliminary investigation by Trooper Joseph Page indicates that JERRY ALPHONSE, 28, of Everett, operating a 2006 Honda CBR600, and ARALT CESAIRE, 26, of Medford, operating a 2004 Suzuki GSX-R600, were traveling on Route 93 Northbound, just prior to Exit 23, in the O’Neill Tunnel in Boston when they lost control of their respective motorcycles and struck the retaining wall on the left side of the tunnel. Both riders were subsequently pronounced deceased at the scene.
At least two other motorcycle operators who were with the victims remained on scene.
While this crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, Troop H detectives, and Troopers assigned to the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office, speed is believed to have been a factor.
