LOWELL – Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan has released the names of three people recently killed in a murder-suicide.

At 6:39 a.m. on Saturday, Lowell Police received a 911 call from a male resident of a Warren Street apartment.  The caller reported that he had shot his wife and child and that he was in possession of firearms.

Police immediately responded to the residence and located an adult female and a female child dead inside. The male caller was also located dead inside from an apparently self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Ryan and Lowell Police Superintendent Greg Hudon have confirmed that Steven Johns, 52, of Lowell called 911 to report he shot his wife, Kaydion Dawson, 45, of Lowell. A family member stated that the 7-year-old daughter was Giselle Johns.

A possible motive has not been released.

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Lowell Police Department.  The case has been referred to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner who will determine cause and manner of death.

What a tragedy for the innocent victims lives to be cut short by someone who claimed to love them. Rest in peace.

I will miss you forever. You were a beautiful baby girl and I wanted you to be happy. You deserved the world and I am so sorry this is how it ended. You were a beautiful sister to my sister and I wish I could have been there for you.
