Motorcycle rider seriously injured in Route 79 double crash
A motorcycle rider was seriously injured Tuesday after crashing multiple times.
At 8:06 p.m., the Lakeville Fire Department and Police Department responded to Route 79 for a motorcycle accident.
According to Lieutenant Ryan Maltais of the Lakeville Police Department, after a preliminary investigation, it was discovered that the involved operator of the motorcycle lost control and left the roadway. After the initial collision, the bike traveled back into the road, colliding with an oncoming vehicle.
The operator of the motorcycle was transported to Rhode Island Hospital by ambulance with significant injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The incident remains under investigation by the Lakeville Police Department.
