Motorcycle rider killed in Saturday evening crash in Norton
A fatal crash claimed the life of a motorcycle rider Saturday evening.
According to Norton Lieutenant Todd Jackson, at approximately 9:00 p.m., Norton Police and Fire personnel were dispatched to the intersection of Maple Street and John Scott Blvd in Norton for a report of a motor vehicle crash. Upon arrival, witnesses directed first responders to an area off the road, adjacent to the railroad tracks, where a motorcycle had crashed into a guardrail.
After initial assessment by Norton Fire personnel, it was determined that the operator of the motorcycle was deceased due to injuries sustained in the crash.
The crash remains under investigation and the identification of the operator is being withheld pending notification of kin.
