The mother of a 21-year-old Fall River man that was found dead this week is remembering her son.

Tommy Rabuffetti had not been seen alive since Saturday morning after family and friends were very concerned for his well-being.

Rabuffetti’s mother Jan says that she, along with his father, found Tommy’s body Tuesday on Hood Street at a set of stairs. A sight no parent should have to endure. She believes that more could have been done.

“My son was my best friend, and the mental health system failed him.”

While Rabuffetti’s death is a tragedy, Jan has found memories of her son. Both the type of person he was and the talents he possessed.

“Tommy loved to fish!! He loved the outdoors and hunting and being with his friends and family. He had had the biggest heart in the world and would give you the shirt off his back. He was an AMAZING rapper, and I will be producing a CD of his music he recorded because he could have been a star.”

She says that she had a very close relationship with her son.

“Tommy and I had a VERY CLOSE bond. The kids he grew up with were just telling me how he always talked about “his mama“. I still had to hold his hand at 21 years old when he had to get a shot or blood work at the doctors, he was such my baby.”

A memorial was created by friends and family where Rabuffetti’s body was located, but it was reportedly removed by the city on Friday.

Friends say that Tommy was a sweet and amazing person.

Jan has created a GoFundMe fundraiser for funeral expenses.

“Tom deserves to rest in peace and I want to give him the best service possible, as he struggled to find peace in this life. I want to send him off with a beautiful service because that’s what he deserves.”
