Mother killed, young daughter survives in serious I-90 rollover crash that closed rest area
A woman was killed in a Friday afternoon accident.
Friday afternoon at 4:13 p.m., Troopers from the State Police-Charlton Barracks responded to a single vehicle crash on Interstate 90 eastbound in Charlton. The rollover crash resulted in the ejection of the operator.
Preliminary investigation indicates that the vehicle of 34-year-old Danielle Wysote from Worcester rolled over in the area of the Charlton rest area. She was transported to UMASS Lakeside Medical Center where she was pronounced deceased. Wysote’s young daughter was also transported to UMASS Lakeside for evaluation and had no injuries. No other vehicle was involved.
The entrance to the I-90 eastbound Charlton rest area was closed for approximately 2 hours while the crash was investigated, traffic flow on Route 90 was not impacted. Charlton Fire and EMS assisted with the scene. The crash remains under investigation with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section and the Charlton Barracks. MassDot assisted with the closure to the rest area.
