No team sports for the time being as the city and the world battle COVID-19.

According to Mayor Coogan, effective immediately, the City of Fall River fields, courts, and open spaces will be open for passive use only – no team sports. City playgrounds and play structures will continue to be closed. These closures and restrictions will be monitored and enforced by the Fall River Police Department.

Coogan states that these restrictions have been put into effect in order to protect the health of the community. Mayor Coogan continues to urge residents to do the following:

Practice social distancing. This means keeping 6ft between individuals and avoid shaking hands and hugging

Wash your hands often for at least 20 seconds with soap and water. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol

Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces

Cover your cough and sneezes. Throw tissues away and clean your hands afterwards.

Stay home when you are sick

Avoid contact with individuals who are sick

“It is critical that we work together as a community during these unprecedented times. We all must take these public health measures seriously as these measures can save lives. Please continue to monitor the City’s website for daily updates regarding COVID-19 and our community.”
