Massachusetts State Police, local police, looking for missing elderly couple

Authorities are looking for a Massachusetts elderly couple that is currently missing.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the Newton Police Department is attempting to locate Toshimichi Shinohara, 80, and his wife Lillian Shinohara, 76. They were last seen leaving their son’s house in Newton, MA and were believed to be driving to Stowe, MA to pick apples before driving back to their house in Falmouth, MA. They left Newton at approximately 12:22 p.m. on Friday, December 8, 2023, driving their 2012 black Volvo XC70 with MA reg. 4VY386.

The vehicle was last seen Saturday, December 9, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m. on Route 84 in Brewster, NY. (Brewster is a village about 50 miles north of New York City, near the Connecticut state line.)

Toshimichi is an Asian male with white hair and a white mustache, last seen wearing a beige jacket, blue jeans, and a beige baseball hat. Lillian is described as an Asian female with black hair and a noticeably slow walk.

If anyone sees Toshimichi or Lillian Shinohara or their vehicle, or has information about them, are asked to call 911 immediately or contact the Newton Police Department at (617) 796-2100.
