Massachusetts State Police have found an 11-year-old girl who was reported to have been abducted this afternoon in the area of Princeton and Amherst streets.

According to Massachusetts State Police, the suspect vehicle has been stopped on the Massachusetts Turnpike. Charlotte Moccia was found in the vehicle.

The car was recovered by Troopers on the Turnpike eastbound in Auburn/Sturbridge area in Troop C. Troopers flooded the area after a motorist called 911 to report seeing the car. The car was stopped in a work zone and Charlotte was recovered. One occupant, Miguel Rodriguez, 24, of Springfield has been taken into custody. Rodriguez has been transported to State Police-Charlton for booking.

Charlotte is being checked out by EMS as a precaution according to Dave Procopio of MSP. She has no apparent injuries.

Preliminary investigation suggests that Moccia, 11, of Springfield, was forced into a car at approximately 1:26 p.m. today, not long after she got off her school bus.

Preliminary investigation suggests that a white or Hispanic male was walking behind Charlotte and forced her into the back of an older model, dark blue or black Honda, possibly a Civic, with an unknown plate.
