Massachusetts State Police seized a large quantity of cash and drugs after a recent investigation led to an arrest.

According to Dave Procopio of Massachusetts State Police, in early 2023, Massachusetts State Troopers assigned to the State Police Detective Unit for Suffolk County District began an investigation into a drug trafficking organization operating in the Greater Boston area. On March 6, State Police Detectives along with Troopers from the State Police Gang Unit and Narcotics Section, DEA, and Boston Police executed a search warrant at a Revere residence.

The State Police Special Tactical Operations Team made entry into the residence and the target of the investigation, 52-year-old Humberto “Pancho” Mesa-Gomez, 52, was taken into custody and charged with trafficking a Class B narcotic, over 200 grams.

Over the course of the investigation, Troopers, Officers and Agents seized a total of approximately 16 kilograms of cocaine and $190,750 in cash from multiple locations in Suffolk County.

Mesa-Gomez was arraigned this week in Chelsea District Court. The case is being prosecuted by the office of Suffolk County District Attorney Kevin Hayden.
