Massachusetts State Police investigating fatal pedestrian crash on Route 6
A Massachusetts man has died after a Saturday morning crash on Route 6.
According to Massachusetts State Police, at 5:04 a.m., Troopers from the State Police-Yarmouth Barracks responded to a crash involving a pedestrian on Route 6 in Harwich that resulted in the death of the pedestrian.
Preliminary investigation indicates that Justin Small, 68, of Brewster, was walking in the roadway when he was struck at the 79 mile marker of Route 6 Eastbound. Small was struck by a 2013 Ford F-150 driven by a 22 year old man from Willington, Conn. No other vehicle was involved.
Route 6 was closed in both directions for approximately 35 minutes.
Harwich Fire and EMS, as well as Harwich PD and Dennis PD assisted with the crash scene. The crash remains under investigation with assistance from State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, and D Troop Detectives.
