Massachusetts sees decrease in COVID-19 hospitalizations for 5th straight day, 4 reported deaths

Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations for a fifth straight day in Monday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 213 more positive cases announced in the last 24 hours. A decrease from the previous 24 hour period. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.4%.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 114,611 with 4 more reported dead for a total of 8,611.

Massachusetts had seen 303 more positive cases in the previous 24 hour period.

14,946 tests were performed, over 500 less than yesterday, to increase the overall total to 1,929,891. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,456,112.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 76 of the last 99 days, and saw a decrease of 5 today to see the total lower to 367.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to August 12th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 77,383
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 74,610
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,773

According to the CDC, as of August 17th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,382,125 with 169,350 dead.
