Massachusetts sees COVID-19 hospitalizations drop for third straight day, 12 reported dead

Massachusetts saw a decrease in hospitalizations for the third straight day in Saturday’s COVID-19 report.

Massachusetts has seen 421 more positive cases announced today. A decrease from Friday’s report. The 7 day weighted average positive test rate remains at 1.0%.

Massachusetts had seen 438 more positive cases announced yesterday.

The Massachusetts Department of Health statistics show a rise in total cases to 118,309 with 12 more reported dead for a total of 8,803.

23,882 tests were performed, over 100 more than yesterday’s report, to increase the overall total to 2,339,669. The amount of individuals tested is now 1,697,434.

Hospitalizations have decreased in 84 of the last 110 days as hospitalizations decreased by 7 today to see the total lower to 305.

Massachusetts residents subject to COVID-19 quarantine by current status up to August 26th
• Total of individuals subject to quarantine: 80,709
• Total of individuals who have completed monitoring (no longer in quarantine): 77,940
• Total of individuals currently undergoing monitoring/under quarantine: 2,769

According to the CDC, as of August 29th, the total amount of COVID-19 cases in the country is 5,890,532 with 181,143 dead.
