Life can sometimes be overwhelming for parents, but there is a group in Massachusetts looking to lend support in those issues in Fall River and throughout the state.

Parents Helping Parents is an organization with meeting locations across Massachusetts.

According to the organization, PHP’s prevention philosophy is grounded in a self-help model based on the belief that parents are capable of developing their own solutions when given the space, encouragement, and community resources that they need. Thus, it is the parents themselves who decide the direction a conversation will take during a Parent Support Group meeting or Parental Stress Line.

Foster parents and grandparents who are guardians of children are also encouraged to attend.

Meetings in Fall River are located at 496 South Almond Street between 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Fridays. Before attending a group, PHP request that you contact the group facilitator prior to attending your first meeting so that they know to expect you. Fall River’s group facilitator is Sabrina and she can be contacted at 508-965-3883.

PHP also has a parental stress line that is open 24 hours a day and seven days a week. It is also confidential. If you need someone to talk to, contact them toll free at 1-800-632-8188.
