Pair arrested after 3-year-old Rhode Island boy dies in apparent drowning

Two people have been arrested after a young Rhode Island boy died in an apparent drowning.

According to information released by police on November 10th, on August 28th at approximately 11:37 a.m., officers of the Warwick Police Department were dispatched to a residence on Gorham Avenue for the report of a 3-year-old male possibly drowning. Warwick Fire Department arrived on scene and attempted to resuscitate the boy. He was transported to Hasbro Children’s Hospital and pronounced deceased at 12:42 p.m.

The Warwick Police Department Detective Division investigated this incident and subsequently arrested and charged the following 2 adults.

31-year-old Kaitlyn Nolan of Warwick was arrested and charged with 5 counts of cruelty to or neglect of a child.

On November 9th, Nolan was presented before a bail commissioner and was released on $5,000 with surety.

32-year-old David Holloway of Warwick was arrested and charged with 2 counts of child endangerment, 5 counts of cruelty to or neglect of a child, 1 count of unnecessary cruelty to animals resulting in death, and 1 count of unnecessary cruelty to animals.

On November 10th, Holloway was arraigned in District Court and bail was set at $50,000 personal recognizance along with special conditions recommended by the RI Department of Children, Youth and Families.

No other information was released.
