Massachusetts mother wins $1 million prize, to buy home for mom
A Massachusetts woman who has several children of her own plans on taking care of her mother after hitting it big in a state lottery game.
Kathleen Gidycz of East Sandwich has won a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$5,000,000 100X Cashword” instant ticket game.
Gidycz chose the cash option for her prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). A mother of five with seven grandchildren, she plans on using some of her winnings to buy a home for her mother.
She purchased her winning ticket at Onset Village Market located at 231 Onset Ave. in Onset. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
