Massachusetts man already has plans after hitting $4 million State Lottery prize
A Massachusetts man already has a good idea on where the money is going after hitting a big State Lottery win.
According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Jeremy Bouchard of Erving is the winner of a $4 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Jumbo Cash” instant ticket game.
Bouchard purchased his winning ticket at the Sandri Stop Mart located at 416 Federal St. in Greenfield. He said he hadn’t played this game for a while and was reunited with a major win.
Bouchard, who was joined by his partner Victoria Gibson when claiming his prize at the Lottery’s headquarters in Dorchester, elected to receive a one-time payment of $2,600,000 (before taxes). He said he plans to purchase a house and a car with his winnings.
The store receives a $40,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.

Why is it 2,600,00 before taxes where does the difference go between the winnings of 4 mill and 2,600,00

You pay a penalty if you get a lump sum instead of the annuity. There was a time when you had no option and had to take the annuity. People asked for a lump sum option, so the lottery added it.

What a ripoff. When you advertise a prize like 4 million that’s what the winner should receive. And it should be tax free. If a private entity offered such a prize and only delivered 2.6 they would be charged with fraud. Typical commie government 😡

What a typical government response. Dodge the question and ignore the truth
