Massachusetts man accused of going on violent rampage, injuring officer, spitting blood at police
A Massachusetts man is accused of going on a rampage, damaging property, injuring an officer, and spitting blood at police.
According to police, Thursday night at about 9:30 p.m., Officers were called to a treatment facility in Plymouth where a person was aggressive towards staff, setting off alarms, and “throwing stuff around the building.”
Prior to Police arrival, the 5’11, 270 lb. man fled on foot. Officers searched the area and were unable to locate him.
A little after midnight, the man returned, was swinging a shovel handle in a threatening manner, shattered a window in the building, and damaged other property. He again took off on foot.
Officers located the man in a truck that he had just broken into in the driveway of a sleeping Plymouth resident. Officers attempted to speak with him, but police say they were met with extreme aggression, insults, and assaultive behavior.
The man began smashing the interior of the truck with baseballs, a shovel handle, and sharp metal objects (leather puncturing tools). He also displayed all of these items in a threatening manner to Police Officers present.
Officers disengaged and attempted to deescalate, but the man continued, smashing windows, the entirety of the interior, and was injuring himself in the process. Officers stated that due to the potential for further injury, coupled with probable cause for arrest, Officers approached.
Officers used O.C. spray which had no effect, and the man was able to swing the shovel handle almost striking an officer, as well as use a metal fork to stab at a Sergeant through a window that he just smashed. A decision was made to tase the man which allowed the Officers to get him out of the vehicle.
Once out, the man continued to resist and began spitting bloody spit at Officers. He was finally taken into custody with minor injuries to one Officer, and minor lacerations to the suspect.
49-year-old Camilo Gutierrez of Haverhill was charged with Vandalizing property, A&B with a dangerous weapon, Assault with a dangerous weapon, A&B on a Police Officer, Disturbing the peace, B&E to a motor vehicle, and malicious damage to a motor vehicle.

This is what ” disengage & deescalate ” gets you. See the liberals who create these nonsense policies don’t have to deal with this loser and demonize the people who do. After trying to stab one officer they should’ve shot him! Then no one would ever have to be put at risk in dealing with this lunatic again.
