Maintenance and debris removal to take place on Fall River/Somerset Braga and Veterans Memorial bridges
FALL RIVER/SOMERSET – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation has announced it will be performing overnight maintenance and debris removal on the Veterans Memorial Bridge along Route 6, including the on/off ramps. Traffic will be managed with State Police-controlled rolling roadblocks, along Route 6 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 11.0 to mile marker 11.6, from 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 16, until 6:00 a.m. the following morning.
MassDOT will also be performing overnight maintenance and debris removal on the Braga Bridge along I-195, including the on/off ramps. Traffic will be managed with State Police-controlled rolling roadblocks, along I-195 eastbound and westbound from mile marker 10.5 to mile marker 12.0, during overnight hours from 9:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., beginning on Sunday, July 14, and concluding the morning of Wednesday, July 17.
Drivers traveling through the affected areas should expect delays, reduce speed, and use caution.
Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.
All scheduled work is weather dependent and/or may be impacted due to an emergency.
