MA man with 97 arraignments arrested after fleeing from police, driving wrong way on Route 195, causing multivehicle crash

A Massachusetts man has been arrested after a police chase and driving the wrong way on Route 195, leading to a multi-vehicle crash.

According to Rehoboth Police Sergeant Brian Ramos, on Tuesday at approximately 7:30 p.m., Rehoboth Police conducted a motor vehicle stop on Moulton Street (Route 118) for a speeding violation. As the officer approached the vehicle to make contact with the driver, it fled the scene.

Rehoboth Police initiated a pursuit of the Ford F-150 pick-up truck which failed to stop for police. During the pursuit, the suspect made two attempts to strike the cruiser of the pursuing officer. The vehicle continued onto Route 195 westbound in Rehoboth and crossed the median strip and began traveling west, in the wrong direction, on Route 195 east.

At this time, Rehoboth Police terminated their pursuit of the vehicle which continued to operate in the wrong direction through Seekonk and into the City of East Providence. The vehicle failed to stop for the East Providence Police as well and was subsequently involved in a motor vehicle crash on Route 195 in the City of East Providence.

The operator was identified as 29-year-old Cary Guy, of Dighton. Guy remains in custody in the State of RI for numerous charges related to the accident.

Guy is well-known to police and has 97 adult criminal arraignments in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, several of those arraignments are associated with Guy failing to stop for police.

Guy will be charged by Rehoboth Police for numerous offenses related to the incident including: failure to stop for police, 2 counts of A&B dangerous weapon, driving to endanger, marked lanes violations, speeding, stop sign violations, driving on a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender.
