Local woman charged with child abuse, other charges after son ingests cocaine
A local woman was charged with child abuse last week and the initial details are rather disturbing.
According to Deputy Chief Joseph Razza, On December 6th the Johnston Police department responded to RI hospital. Hospital staff indicated that Tina Marie Tucker, 36, of Forest Hill Drive Johnston, had a son who had ingested cocaine within the past 24-48 hours.
Based on a joint investigation with DCYF and Detectives from the Johnston Police department, an arrest warrant was issued and Tucker was arrested.
Detectives also determined through a preliminary investigation that Tucker could be charged with Sexual Conduct for a Fee in addition to Neglect of a Child and First Degree Child Abuse. The neglect and abuse charges are both felonies.
