Local man hits $1 million ticket sold in Fall River
A stop into a Fall River convenience store was a lucky one for a local man.
According to Massachusetts State Lottery, Charles Appleton of Little Compton, RI is the 52nd $1 million prize winner in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “The Fastest Road to $1 Million” instant ticket game.
Appleton chose the cash option on his prize and received a one-time payment of $650,000 (less tax withholdings). He purchased his winning ticket while stopping for gas at 7-Eleven, 1099 William Canning Blvd. in Fall River. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of the ticket.
