Lakeville Police save overboard boater
The Lakeville Police Department came to the rescue of a local boater this afternoon.
According to Lakeville Police, at 1:35 p.m., the Lakeville Police Department received a 911 call reporting an overturned Sunfish Sailboat with the occupant overboard on Long Pond.
Sergeant Maltais and officer Swift were currently on duty in the patrol boat and quickly arrived to provide aid to the boater.
The officers were able to retrieve the tired sailor out of the water and bring him safely on board.
After some effort, officers were successful in getting the boat upright and towed it into shore.
