Fall River Police investigating a 2nd weekend shooting

Fall River Police are investigating two shootings from this weekend

According to Sergeant J.T. Hoar, on Saturday August 10th at approximately 1:40 a.m., Fall River Police responded to the area of Pleasant and Quequechan Streets for a report of shots fired and located a 26 year old victim near Wamsutta Playground. Initial reports were shots were fired near County and Arizona Street, but after several more 911 calls, it was determined that shots were fired near Pleasant and Quequechan Street.

Police attempted to speak with the victim about the shooting incident, but according to Hoar, he provided no description of a potential suspect and ultimately became uncooperative.

Officers were able to locate 10 spent 9mm shell casings near Wamsutta and Pleasant Streets.

The victim sustained a non life threatening gun shot wound to his hand and was transported to Rhode Island Hospital for further treatment.

Police are still investigating the incident.
