Indoor pro football headed to Fall River this spring
An indoor pro football team is making its new home in Fall River and hoping to heat up the Driscoll skating rink.
The New England Bobcats, a professional indoor football team, will now call Fall River home. In their inaugural season in 2018, the Bobcats captured first place and went on to win the Championship of the East Coast Division and the EIF League. The Bobcats have now moved up to level 2 representing the American Arena League.
Pro indoor football veteran Julien Robinson is the team’s head coach and hopes to continue the team’s winning ways in Fall River. Fall River’s own Doug and Darryl Berry are their offensive coaches. The team’s roster is full of residents from across the east coast including several from Massachusetts.
The team was initially scheduled to play in Lynn, but the facility did not feature enough parking so Driscoll Arena was a bigger and better choice for their growing fan base.
Cynthia Hudson, Owner, President & General Manager, is excited on the move to their new location and believes Driscoll Arena is a great fit. When talking to Hudson, it is clear that involving the team in the Fall River community is important.
“We will be having free kids camps on the day of home games and there will be autograph signings, and meet and greets after the games,” Hudson stated. “Every home game will have a theme such as family night.”
Hudson is in the process of getting Ayla Brown to sing at one of the games. The games will also be live streamed on the team’s Facebook page. In addition, the team also has a pro dance group to pump up the fans.
The Bobcats first home game in the American Arena League is April 20th against the New Jersey Bearcats. Ticket prices are:
– General admission: $15
– Student admission: $10
– Family of 4 (2 adults and 2 children under 12): $35
– Season tickets: $85
– All veterans and children under 7 get in for free.
A private room overlooking the game will also be available.
