Husband’s haircut leads to $1 million State Lottery prize for Massachusetts woman

A Massachusetts woman plans on going places after hitting big money on a scratch ticket.

According to the Massachusetts State Lottery, Mary Leary is the winner of a $1 million prize in the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “$4,000,000 Diamonds” $10 instant ticket game.

Leary, who is from of Wilmington, said that she scratched her winning ticket while her husband was getting his hair cut. She opted to receive her prize in the form of a one-time payment of $650,000 (before taxes). She said she plans to use some of her winnings to go on a vacation.

Her winning ticket was purchased at Sunrise Market, 327 Main St. in Wilmington. The store will receive a $10,000 bonus for its sale of this ticket.
