Southern New England issued Winter Weather Advisory

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Central Middlesex MA-Western Essex MA-Eastern Essex MA-Western Norfolk MA Southeast Middlesex MA-Suffolk MA-Eastern Norfolk MA-Northern Bristol MA-Western Plymouth MA-Eastern Plymouth MA-Southern Bristol MA-Southern Plymouth MA-Northwest Providence RI-Southeast Providence RI-Western Kent RI-Eastern Kent RI-Bristol RI-Washington RI-Newport RI-Including the cities of Framingham, Lowell, Lawrence, Gloucester,Foxborough, Norwood, Cambridge, Boston, Quincy, Taunton, Brockton, Plymouth, Fall River, New Bedford, Mattapoisett, Foster, Smithfield, Providence, Coventry, West Greenwich, East Greenwich, Warwick, West Warwick, Bristol, Narragansett,
Westerly, and Newport.

The Advisory is in effect from 7:00 p.m. Wednesday evening to 7:00 a.m. Thursday morning.

Mixed precipitation is expected from Wednesday evening into Thursday morning. Total snow accumulations of up to two inches and ice accumulations of around one tenth of an inch expected for portions of eastern, northeastern and southeastern Massachusetts, and all of Rhode Island except Block Island.

Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday morning commute.

A Winter Weather Advisory means that periods of snow, sleet or freezing rain will cause travel difficulties. Expect slippery roads and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving.
