A new Mexican restaurant is coming to the Fall River area this summer.

Chris Stack, who also owns the Somerset Sonic on Route 6, stated at Wednesday’s Board of Selectmen that Pancheros Mexican Grill is coming to Fairfield Commons Plaza at 550 Grand Army Highway.

Stack stated that Pancheros is similar to Chipotle, however, the ownership group, HHB of Somerset, Inc was granted a common victualer-wine & malt beverages license to serve alcohol. Stack stated that alcohol comprises of about 2% of Pancheros’ business.

The location will feature a 1300 square foot dining area with 56 seats.

Pancheros prides itself on their fresh-pressed tortillas, revolutionized burrito building, and keeping it simple with no fryers or freezers. The fast-food chain also serves Quesadillas, tacos, and salads.

Selectman Lorne Lawless stated that Pancheros submitted one of the most comprehensive wine and malt beverages license he has seen.

Selectman Jacob Vaught stated that parking appeared to be the only issue with the restaurant operating at the location. Jersey Mike’s Sub Shop and Starbucks are also located in the plaza near the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott.
