According to the National Weather Service, pockets of freezing drizzle or black ice is possible late tonight and early Wednesday.
Moisture will be increasing late tonight near the coast as a weak onshore flow develops. With temperatures below freezing, some of this moisture may freeze on road surfaces with pockets of black ice possible late tonight and early Wednesday. In addition, there is a low risk for patchy freezing drizzle developing toward daybreak across portions of Rhode Island and southeast Massachusetts which could impact the morning commute.
While many areas will remain dry, motorists traveling to work or school early Wednesday morning should be prepared for the possibility of some slick roads due to black ice or pockets of freezing drizzle.
