Freetown Police arrest woman involved in alleged multi-state heroin trafficking ring

Several heroin overdose deaths in southeastern Connecticut triggered an initial investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force East and New London Police Department. The investigation expanded and lead police to suspects in a number of communities, including Freetown.

A Federal Search Warrant was issued to search the residence of Lilybeth Quinonez, age 34, of 113 County Road Freetown, on November 14, 2017.

According to Freetown Police Detective Shane Kelley, Quinonez was arrested and charged with:

· 2 counts of Possession of a Large Capacity Handgun
· 2 counts of Improper Storage of a Large Capacity Handgun
· 5 counts of Possession of Large Capacity Feeding Devices
· 1 count of Unlawful Possession of Ammunition

Freetown Officers and DEA Agents located and seized, Heroin and narcotic distributing/processing items, such as cutting agents, scales, baggies, and currency, from the residence.

Quinonez is currently being held on bail at the Bristol County House of Correction.
