Former Fall River mayor Jasiel Correia is residing in yet another prison as his trip around the country continues.

The 32-year-old continues to be moved to prisons that are far away from the Bay State.

Correia was initially serving his sentence in Berlin, New Hampshire. He then stayed briefly in Brookyln, New York before locating at the Federal Detention Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania late in November. He was then moved to a federal transfer center in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in mid-December. At the beginning of the year, he was transferred to Atlanta USP. This week, he was moved to FCI Ashland in Kentucky according to inmate records.

According to the Bureau of Prisons, FCI Ashland is a low security federal correction institution with an adjacent minimum security satellite camp. The facility has a population of 1,313. FCI Ashland began operations in 1940 and houses male only inmates.

FCI Ashland was ranked one of the 10 cushiest prisons in 2009 by Forbes stating that it “has a history of housing high-profile inmates. Mystery writer Dashiell Hammett spent several months here in the early 1950s after being found in contempt of court for refusing to testify about alleged Communist activities. More recently it’s been home to plaintiff super-lawyer Richard “Dickie” Scruggs of Mississippi, who won billions of dollars from the tobacco industry in the 1990s only to be sentenced to prison” for bribing a judge.

A Federal Bureau of Prisons spokesperson stated that the conditions as to why Correia has been moved would not be made public.

According to an inmate search, Correia has a release date of 10/29/2026.

Correia, who was convicted of defrauding investors through his SnoOwl app in addition to extorting money from marijuana companies, lost his appeal in November of 2022.
