Fall River, MA (October 20, 2017) – Picture Show Entertainment today announced the grand opening date for its new 11-screen movie theater at SouthCoast Marketplace, bringing a high-quality movie experience to the South Coast region. The 1,200-seat premium movie theater will open to the public on Friday, October 27th with its first showing at 9:45am.
The new, approximately 50,000 square-foot Picture Show at SouthCoast Marketplace will deliver the optimal movie-watching experience, offering leather electric luxury reclining seating, wall-to-wall high-definition screens and cutting-edge digital projection and sound systems. The theater will also feature an extended concession menu with high-quality food options, self-service Coca-Cola Freestyle™ soda machines with unlimited drink options and a beer and wine bar. Advanced reserve seating will be available for purchase by visiting www.pictureshowent.com beginning Tuesday, October 24th. Picture Show at SouthCoast Marketplace will provide guests the opportunity to be the first in the region to enjoy a premium experience while watching movies like “Thor: Ragnarok,” “Justice League,” and “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” in a large-format auditorium with a 55 feet wide screen and over 70 sound speakers powered by Dolby Atmos Sound System, the first of its kind in the region.
“Picture Show is proud to join a high quality new shopping destination in the South Coast region, making this our first Massachusetts location,” said Jeff Stedman, CEO of Picture Show Entertainment. “By bringing an affordable luxury movie theater experience to this region, we are eager to fill the need for family friendly entertainment and look forward to introducing the Picture Show experience to guests of all ages.”
SouthCoast Marketplace is a modern 350,000 square-foot shopping center anchored by Market Basket and 26 additional retailers, services and restaurants, including the city’s first Starbucks. The market place features a carefully planned landscape design that creates an inviting setting with tree-lined walkways, benches and lighting. The welcoming central plaza at SouthCoast Marketplace serves as a grand entrance to the theater, with an open courtyard that allows visitors to gather and interact.
“The addition of Picture Show plays a notable role both at SouthCoast Marketplace and the greater region by bringing a movie theater back to this community,” said Ron Golub from the Stonewood Companies which leads leasing at SouthCoast Marketplace. “Picture Show stands out in the market for delivering a longstanding reputation of providing a premium movie experience at an exceptional value. With this core brand mission in mind, we knew Picture Show stood as an ideal fit for the tenant mix at SouthCoast Marketplace and are confident this team will fill a significant pent-up demand in the region.”
SouthCoast Marketplace is strategically located at the intersection of Route 24, Exit 1 and William S. Canning Blvd. (Route 81), a primary commercial throughway in Fall River.
