Fire Department uses chainsaw, jack, to rescue two injured women in Route 140 crash
Two women were rescued after an early morning crash Friday.
According to the Lakeville Fire Department, Car 1, Car 2, Engine 1, Engine 2, Ambulance 1, and Ambulance 2 responded to the scene of a rollover crash on Route 140 south at 2:33 a.m. where the occupants were reported to be trapped.
Car 1 arrived first to find a passenger vehicle off the road and on its side. The two occupants were trapped in the vehicle.
Crews used a chainsaw to clear brush and trees from the vehicle. A stabilizing jack system was deployed to prevent the car from falling over during extrication. Firefighters removed the windshield and extricated the victims.
Two adult women were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital with injuries that did not appear life-threatening.
