Fall River Police investigating third shooting in 3 days with gunshot damage in area of playground

The Fall River Police Department is investigating the city’s third shooting in as many days.

According to Captain Barden Castro, on Thursday, at approximately 8:25 p.m., Uniform Division Officers responded to the area of Wamsutta Playground after hearing what they believed to be gunshots coming from that location.

Upon arrival, it was confirmed that several shots had been fired and a search of the area began.

Castro stated that there were no reported injuries and reported property damage consisted of a parked car that was struck.

On Monday, a store owner was shot and killed on Rock Street.

On Wednesday, a vehicle with 3 inside was hit by gunfire in Fall River.

Uniform Division personnel as well as detectives will be continuing the investigation today.
