Guy Fieri liked a certain Tiverton eatery so much that he has now visited it twice.

Evelyn’s Drive In at 2335 Main Road took to social media to announce an episode of Triple D Nation, a spinoff of Fieri’s Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives, will soon be airing featuring their restaurant.

“SCREAMING from the rooftops to mark your calendars! February 9th at 9pm est! @evelynsdrivein will yet again be featured on Food Network’s epic show Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives!! We are humbled to be in front of the cameras, once again, showcasing our Hollywood-worthy menu!! Cheers to our best year yet!”

On the episode called “From Steak to Seafood”, “Fieri’s having a turf-and-surf soiree! First, a Brazilian-American fusion place in Orlando, Fla., is serving traditional shrimp stew and savory steak. Then, a soul-food spot in Memphis, Tenn., is dishing out a fierce fried sandwich, and a waterfront joint in Tiverton, R.I. (Evelyn’s), is bringing some killer flavor to next-level seafood platters and chowders.

The Food Network notes that “at Evelyn’s Drive In, you’ll find great local favorites and scenic views of Nanaquaket Pond. The eatery is famous for fried clams and the traditional Rhode Island Clam Chowder that adds cream at the end. Guy couldn’t believe the Lobster Chow Mein and joked, “As wrong as it is, it’s right.””

If you can’t wait for Evelyn’s to reopen for the season in May, on Triple D Nation’s website, it features the recipe for Evelyn’s Two-Pound Seafood Platter.

In an October 15, 2007, episode of Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives called Seaside Eats, Evelyn’s Drive In was featured with Fieri and Jane and Domenic Bitto, who have owned the spot since 1987 after Evelyn DuPont founded it in 1969.

If you can’t catch the episode on February 9th, it will also air Saturday, February 10th at 12:00 a.m., Saturday, February 24th at 11:00 p.m., and Sunday, February 25th at 2:00 a.m.

I’m glad he hasn’t gone to the best place, Flow’s Island Park and Middle Town because they are already too busy! I tried Evelyn’s once and got the stinkiest clams I have ever smelled and they wouldn’t give me a refund. That was decades ago and I don’t know if they’ve improved but really? I wonder if they pay him? I know some places don’t want him to come if they’re already doing a good business. I’ve always considered Evelyn’s a tourist trap and the locals go to Flow’s
