A city woman is facing charges after recent car break-ins in the area.

According to Fall River Police, on Thursday, 36-year-old Akashia Murchison was arrested after being caught in the act of breaking into a motor vehicle on Gagnon Street.

The vehicle owner’s son observed Murchison breaking into the vehicle and confronted her. He was able to keep her on scene until officers arrived.

Through his investigation, Officer Garrett Nelson was able to link Murchison to another vehicle break-in in the area.

Murchison also had outstanding arrest warrants for breaking and entering at the time of her arrest.

Investigators continue to explore Murchison’s possible involvement in similar crimes in the area over the past few days. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Major Crimes Division at 508-324-2796.

Keep her in jail. If she’s let out she will just do it again. Addiction is suck, keep “her” in jail so she can get clean.
