Fall River wanted shooting suspect in custody Thursday, held without bail

A wanted armed and dangerous suspect from a shooting earlier this year is now in custody according to Bristol County DA Quinn.

Rodney Jette turned himself in earlier this afternoon.

Jette turned himself in hours after being featured at Quinn’s Bristol County Most Wanted Fugitives press conference, Jette has been arraigned and ordered held without bail pending a February 21st dangerousness hearing in Fall River District Court.

According to Fall River Police, on January 22nd at approximately 1:00 p.m. a shooting took place in broad daylight on South Main Street in Fall River. At that time, the suspect fled the area. After an exhaustive investigation, lead investigator Detective Dwaine Cabeceiras along with members of FRPD Major Crimes and Special Operations Division pieced together numerous witness statements and security camera footage to identify Jette and obtain a warrant for the arrest of that suspect.

Rodney Z. Jette was wanted on charges of:

• Carry/Possession of a non-large capacity firearm without LTC
• Carrying a Firearm without a license in public,
• Attempt to commit A&B by discharging a firearm,
• Vandalizing property 3 Counts,
• Discharging a Firearm within 500 Feet of a Building

Jette was placed on the Fall River Police Department’s Ten Most Wanted list before turning himself in.
