Do you love October and all things fall? Is Halloween your favorite holiday? Join the Fall River Public Library for a Pumpkin Carving Contest!

Carve your own pumpkin and compete for the best pumpkin designs. Prizes will be awarded for the best spooky creations.

This Halloween-themed program is open to adults and teens age 12 and up. Come on your own or with a team of friends or family. The library will supply the pumpkin and everything you need to carve and decorate it. You supply the creativity!

Space is limited for the event which is taking place on Monday, October 18 at 5pm. Register now by calling the library’s circulation desk at 508-324-2700, ext. 2. Limit: one pumpkin per family.

Also, another free drive-in will be taking place on Sunday, October 31st at Durfee High School. In lieu of their annual Halloween party, Greater Fall River Re-Creation is teaming up with Mayor Paul Coogan and the City of Fall River to move the event outdoors. A number of Halloween themed activities will begin at 3:30pm until a screening of “Hocus Pocus” begins at 5:30pm. Additional information about this event is expected to be announced at a later date.
