Fall River teen with loaded gun arrested on multiple drug and gun charges
A Fall River teen was arrested today on multiple drug and gun charges.
According to the Shrewsbury Police Department, Officer Kevin Caviston conducted a motor vehicle stop of a 2001 Hyundai sedan on Boston Turnpike (Route 9). Officer Kyle Amato responded and provided backup for the motor vehicle stop.
After a brief investigation, Officer Amato located a loaded 9MM Glock handgun on a male passenger in the vehicle. It was discovered that the suspect did not have a License To Carry (LTC) firearms, and he was placed under arrest. Also located on the same suspect was 10.3 grams of MDMA (commonly referred to as “molly” or “ecstasy”), 1.9 grams of Percocet, and 49.9 grams of Xanax.
Sergeant Mike Vitols, Officer Chris Abbascia, and Detective Paul Brown also assisted with the investigation.
The suspect was identified as Zakai Shelton, 19, of Stafford Road, Fall River.
Shelton is being charged with Possession of a firearm without a permit, Possession of ammunition without a permit, Possession of a Class B substance (2 counts), and Possession of a Class C substance.
