Fall River schools, FRPD SROs combine to hand out Exceptional Student Citizen Awards
Two sectors of the Fall River community are coming together to recognize special students in the city.
Fall River schools and the Fall River Police Department are awarding the Exceptional Student Citizen Award.
In order to receive the award, students must exhibit outstanding achievement either within the school setting, personally in their own endeavors, or display outstanding civic duty in their community.
Students will be chosen by school staff in collaboration with the Fall River Police Department Student Resource Officers.
Those who are selected will receive a bat with their name on it made by Axis which makes major league baseball bats here in Fall River.
According to Sgt. Joe Galvao, 5 students from every school are selected every semester.
