Fall River restaurant open for decades set to close early this month

A Fall River restaurant is closing soon but you still have a chance to get your fix one last time.
Roger’s Coney Island Hot Dogs at 1518 North Main Street will be closing on March 9th.
The restaurant has been open for decades.
The property was sold in early 2019 to 1518 North Main Street LLC, which is managed by Jay Alexander, after Rita and John Champagne handed over the keys after 40+ years. Long time employee Ashley Cabral has been running the eatery with Alexander.
The restaurant issued the following statement on Sunday:
“Dear valued customers, with a heavy heart I have to announce that Roger’s Coney Island is permanently closing. First, I would like to give immeasurable thanks to everyone that has dined with us whether you’ve been dining for years or just found us recently, you are the reason for our success, and we are truly humbled and honored to have served you. I purchased the restaurant six years ago and what I’ve realized over those six years is it’s never easy filling someone else’s shoes, and we have certainly tried. Our first three years we battled Covid and had to shut down, after that we tried to regroup, redesign one step at a time. Unfortunately closing Roger’s seems to be the direction that we are now in. Although this is difficult for our customers it was a very difficult decision to make because of our loyal employees. Ashley who has been running the day to day along with a great crew of employees that have been with Roger’s for 20+years made this decision difficult. I want to express sincere thanks to them and to you for your support and with so many wonderful and creative businesses in Fall River you will surely find many places to go. Thank you for being part of our journey and as always, thank you for choosing us. Our last day of operation will be Sunday March 9th.” – Jay Alexander
Roger’s has been known for their hotdogs, sandwiches, and breakfast offerings.
Hours of operation are 4:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Sunday, 4:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday/Saturday, and Friday 4:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
It is currently unclear what will happen to the property after March 9th.
