The Fall River Police Department arrested robbery suspects and a bystander helped a store clerk after an incident this week.

According to Det. Sergeant Moses Pereira, on Tuesday, at approximately 4:30 p.m., officers responded to the Farm Market, located at 223 Durfee Street, in response to a reported armed robbery.

Upon arrival, officers were advised that a female entered the store to purchase cigarettes. She grabbed the cigarettes from the counter and ran from the store without paying for them. The clerk began to chase the female outside of the store to reclaim the merchandise she had taken. While trying to take the cigarettes from the female he was confronted by two males. During this confrontation, the clerk was sprayed in the face with mace by one of the males.

A citizen who is familiar with the store clerk observed the struggle and exited his vehicle to assist him. As a result, the parties left the area on foot.

After review of surveillance footage and speaking with the victim and witnesses, the two individuals were located nearby. Taylor Harrington 27, and Ian Domingos 37, were taken into custody and charged with armed robbery.
