Fall River Police Department searching for woman wanted in car theft that injured owner
A woman is wanted by the Fall River Police Department for allegedly not returning a vehicle and later injuring the owner with it.
According to Detective John Robinson, on Tuesday August 13th at approximately 4:43 p.m., Uniform Division Officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Plymouth Avenue in response to an assault and battery in progress.
On arrival, Officers learned a 65-year-old mother and her 37-year-old daughter were traveling on Plymouth Avenue when they observed their gray 2008 Mazda 3, which they allowed an acquaintance to use for a day last week, pull into a residential driveway on Plymouth Avenue. The vehicle was never returned at the end of that day and had not been seen since. The mother and daughter stopped their vehicle with the intent to confront the acquaintance. As they approached, the Mazda backed up and returned to Plymouth Avenue. Robinson stated that the acquaintance then shifted the Mazda into drive and began accelerating forward, knocking the mother and daughter to the ground.
The mother sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a Rhode Island hospital. There is no report on if the daughter was injured.
The FRPD is looking for 33 year old Nicole E. Nunes who is believed to be homeless and still in possession of the Mazda 3 with Massachusetts registration 15Y420. Nunes is believed to be living in the vehicle.
