Fall River Police arrest man for murder on Christmas Eve
Fall River Police have arrested a man on Christmas Eve in an apparent murder.
Fall River Police, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the district attorney’s office and Homicide Unit prosecutors are actively investigating a homicide, which occurred in the City of Fall River Tuesday night.
According to Gregg Miliote of the Bristol County District Attorney’s Office, at around 5:30 pm Tuesday, Fall River Police received a 911 call regarding the location of a deceased male in a wooded area behind the Gold Medal Bakery on Bay Street in Fall River. When police and paramedics arrived on scene, they located the deceased, later identified as Gary Werra, 39, of Fall River, in the wooded area.
Further investigation and interviews with witnesses led investigators to a suspect, who was arrested without incident last night in a home on County Street. The defendant, Jose Amador, 23, of Fall River, has formally been charged with murder and will be arraigned tomorrow morning in Fall River District Court.
