Fall River paramedics help deliver baby Wednesday
According to AFSCME L-1202 Professional Paramedics of Fall River, on Wednesday, June 27th at approximately 7:20 a.m., Medical Rescue 4 of Fall River Fire Department’s EMS Division arrived on scene at a 3rd floor apartment on Linden St.
Paramedics were originally dispatched for a female 32 weeks pregnant and in labor. Immediately upon arrival, Paramedic Nathan Rock and Paramedic Michael Winterson quickly realized their was little time to spare. At 7:29 a.m., Elizabeth Powers gave birth to a healthy 5 lb 5 oz beautiful baby girl. Soon after Squad 11 and Engine 12 arrived on scene to assist the Rescue 4 paramedics and transport both mother and newborn to Charlton Memorial Hospital for continued care.
