Fall River, New Bedford, Somerset, Swansea, Westport students from Diman come home with medals in SkillsUSA
Some Fall River area students came away with hardware after competing in a state competition.
According to Diman Regional, 49 of 100 Diman competitors received medals during the past week SkillsUSA Massachusetts competition! 26 students advance to compete in the National SkillsUSA competition in Atlanta, GA in June.
SkillsUSA is an organization and competition where students hone their personal skills, workplace skills and technical skills against current industry standards in more than 130 occupational areas, from 3-D animation to welding and nearly everything in between.
Here’s the award breakdown: 26 students won gold medals, 15 won silver medals, and 8 won bronze medals.
In addition to medals, Ava Santos was awarded the Jeannine Baker Legacy Award with a scholarship and Emma Shaker was awarded a Brian S. Bentley Scholarship Award.
